I started doing CrossFit in 2011, following a conversation and a workout with a good friend, who had been training with the Marines. This was my first exposure to CrossFit, and looking back now, I had no idea how this conversation would positively impact my life and the lives of many people around me.
After joining a CrossFit Box and then getting my CF Level 1 Certification, I was hooked. I knew I wanted to someday open my own CrossFit affiliate and share my knowledge and experience.
Now my passion in life is to share my enthusiasm for a healthy and fulfilling life with as many people as possible!
My passion for fitness came shortly after graduating college. I was your typical gym-goer spending easily 2-3 hours there 4-5x a week. Did I see results? No. Did I know what I was doing? No. I needed a change, so a family friend finally got me into CrossFit in 2013. I was skeptical but immediately fell in love and never looked back. In more ways than one.
I never found something I enjoyed more than heading to CrossFit class!
Then I met my husband, and it became something we could do together. Take that a step further and add in his dream for opening up an affiliate of his own. An opportunity to share what I experienced with others? Count me in! I decided I wanted to be a CrossFit Coach & share whatever I know with everyone.
My goal is to help educate as many people as I can to be healthy, disease free & live a long, happy life! Since having my son in April 2019, my newest goal is to help educate Moms to be, New-Moms & Moms through their fitness journey during pregnancy as well as postpartum.
I have been into fitness my whole life whether it was playing soccer, football or wrestling as well as lifting weights. I got in to CrossFit after hearing about it from a friend of mine and once I tried it I was hooked. It has gotten me back in shape and I feel faster, stronger and more flexible than I have in a long time. I feel like being a coach is not just someone who writes the workout on a board or cheers people or is just there to keep time. A coach has to be able to explain the How and Why something is done a certain way and motivate the athlete to WANT to do their best, not just go through the motions to get it over with and move on. The athletes should be looking forward to coming to a class to learn new things or perfect things they have been doing already and not just showing up because they feel they have to.
At CFP, I strive to make athletes want to come back again and again because the class was informative and fun at the same time. This is when I feel accomplished as a coach.
I moved to the Pawling area in 2016 with my family. That fall I ran the New York City Marathon for the 2nd time. While I loved running, I wanted a more inclusive fitness and also somewhere I could go where I could meet members of the community around me and have some fun. A neighbor and friend up the street referred me to CrossFit Pawling and I started working out there. I felt like I discovered a whole new world. There was so much to learn, so much to do!
I marveled at the many movements programmed differently each day, and the results that the program had obviously achieved in the athletes around me. I loved the coaches and athletes that made up the CrossFit Pawling Community. In just a few short years, I have found the journey to be the most rewarding exercise I have ever engaged in, and the friendships to be authentic. I am thrilled to be coaching and giving back to a community I love, sharing a passion that continues to grow in me every day.
Watching one football practice in 3rd grade was all it took for me, I was hooked. As a high school & college football player I developed a tremendous passion for training & sports. Soon after college graduation I found that there was not much offered out there that compared to team sports like football. I began to train as a triathlete & competed in both biathlons & triathlons locally. Around 2012 CrossFit was introduced to me by a former boss, & we gave it a shot together. Instantly that feeling came back! I have coached at the youth level as well as the high school varsity level locally for over a decade & strive to make our younger generation move & feel better. I love to blend sport specific training with CrossFit methodology. I am a lifelong learner that will always work to make my training sessions better & of the utmost quality.
From an early age I’ve always enjoyed physical activity. Whether it was playing baseball for my school or running around the neighborhood playing pickup games of any sport. After graduating high school I always knew I wanted a job helping others. I was lucky enough to find that through health & fitness. I started coaching CrossFit in 2013 and have worked with many great people along the way. As well as helping them become the best version of themselves they have helped me do the same. I fell in love with CrossFit for many reasons. One of them being, it not only helps you become a better athlete in the gym but it transfers over into everyday life as well.
I tried CrossFit for the first time in 2017, after wanting to improve my Olympic lifting technique and absolutely fell in love with the workouts, the community, accountability and methodology of CrossFit. My favorite aspect of CrossFit is the ability to compete against myself mentally and physically to explore the limits of what my body and mind are truly capable of. Being a chiropractor, I look toward lifelong health and fitness, this pushes me to test myself and try new aspects of physical fitness, ones I never thought I would be participating in such as rowing a half marathon and participating in triathlons. I enjoy coaching because motivating people to push themselves and seeing the results of that determination as success in the gym. In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors during all seasons and playing bagpipes.
Fitness has always been a part of my life. Growing up, I was a four-season athlete (volleyball, softball, downhill skiing & horseback riding). I loved being on a team and part of a community, and post-high school I was constantly searching for that same feeling through various gym memberships.
In 2016 I joined CrossFit Pawling and immediately felt like I was home. CrossFit has changed my life. I am happier and healthier because of the support I’ve received from fellow coaches and CFP members. They’ve guided me, taught me, cheered me on, and they have even given me a bit of tough love when I needed. I have not only improved my fitness, but I’ve learned how to listen to my body, move safely and fuel myself with nutritious food.
Joining CFP and investing in my health was the best decision I’ve ever made for myself. My goal as a CFP coach is to give others the tools they need to live a happier and healthier life.
In my mid 20’s & 2 years after giving birth I took up running & less then a year & a half later my body could not take the impact anymore.
For the next year I had no exercise routine & greatly missed it. In 2017 a friend of mine had been doing CrossFit & had asked me to come along, I went to a class with her. That day we worked on the Snatch Progression. Prior to that day, I had never used a barbell & of course never heard of the Snatch before.
Needless to say, I LOVED that it was different & I immediately signed up. I had never, ever loved any exercise, any hobby so much before. I never could have imagined how that first day would have impacted my life.
I knew early on I wanted to help people find their health & fitness through CrossFit. In 2019 I got my CrossFit Level 1 Certificate. As someone who has struggled with their weight, health and fitness most of their life, it is really important to me to get to be a part of someone else realizing they can change their life too!
